Selected Student Work! : Semiotics

The goal of this assignment was to create imagery rich in metaphor and symbols. Then to dissect those images using the rhetoric of Roland Barthes.

    This is a great project. Surprisingly, I did not catch on to the concept of "pairs" until I read it at the end! I am fascinated by the power of a thorough-going semiotic analysis a la Peirce, Sebeok, Deely, and many others.
